RIYKA (b.2011, London) is the brain child of Rebecca & Vedran husband and wife. Each RIYKA collection sources its inspiration from the vibrant cultures that surround them in the heart of Dalston, east London where they live and create.
Each season we aim to source fabrics that we believe have minimal impact on the environment or the people making them. Whenever we can, we always ask our suppliers how and where the materials are made.
We use- end of roll, GOTS certified organic, fair-trade, British made or reclaimed.
We have a 'slow' approach to fashion, our collections are small and pieces are timeless, of high quality and aimed to last a very long time.
All of our studio waste is recycled, and fabric waste is sent to be up-cycled with different charities twice a year to avoid landfill.
We work with a small atelier in Sofia Bulgaria, the atelier respects our zero waste policy, is fair-wage and complies with EU laws.
SMALL SCALE PRODUCTION
We produce a limited run of each style, we foucus on small scale with high quality. Making sure each and every piece gets the same amount of our love.
“…fun, playful, wearable and defiantly ethical".—Lucy Siegle for the Guardian Observer magazine
